The public directory uses government, regulator and legislation websites. Each entry carries the publisher, destination and date checked. Commentary, commercial blogs and generated summaries do not enter the source directory.

2. Separate guidance for each UK nation

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have different tenancy, registration, safety and possession systems. Complyard records which nation each source serves and keeps national material separate in the guidance finder.

3. Categories built around landlord work

Sources are organised into eight practical areas and 45 subcategories. A source can appear in more than one area when it genuinely helps with more than one task.

4. Checked dates and change review

The current UK directory contains 49 official pages and was checked on 27 August 2026. A change to a source is reviewed before a public update is written. Earlier source and update records are kept so the service can show how its information developed.

5. Local coverage

National registration and licensing gateways are available for all four nations. The detailed council directory currently begins with 15 English councils. Local schemes, boundaries, fees and enforcement pages are expanded authority by authority rather than guessed from a national rule.

6. Coverage and corrections

The directory is a broad private-residential landlord reference, not an inventory of every unusual tenancy, property use or local scheme. Broken pages, unclear commencement dates and missing local detail are added to the research queue. Corrections retain the earlier record instead of silently replacing it.
